The Palm Springs Winter Break 2027 Choreography Contest is officially open, and we’ve made some thoughtful updates to keep the focus exactly where it belongs: on creativity, choreography, and giving rising stars their moment to shine.

🦩 A Clearer Focus on Choreography

This year, judging is centered fully on the choreography itself—your movement, your musicality, your structure, your style. The goal is to celebrate what you create, plain and simple.

🦩 Teaching Is No Longer Part of the Prize

In past years, winners earned a teaching slot at the event. For 2027, that piece has been removed to keep the contest focused on choreographers as choreographers.

Instead, teaching opportunities at the event will be filled through our upcoming Flamingo Fortune Lucky Draw—a separate, chance-based opportunity designed to spotlight instructors in a different (and equally exciting) way. Details coming soon!
